(Briana's Dinner Table)

D-So baby girl. How was your day at school today?
B-Oh it was fine.
D-Didn't you get your report card today?
B-Yes.
M-How are those grades looking missy?
B-Same ole'.Same ole'.All A's like always.
M-That's great baby!
B-I know you tell me this all the time. But never do I get rewarded for these "GREAT" things.
D-We'll you are now.
B-What?! (squeals)
D-We have something for you.
B-OH MY GOSH! WHAT IS IT???
D-A cellphone!
B-SHUT UP!?
D-Did she just tell me to shut up??
M-(laughs) Honey calm down. Kids now at days say "shut up" as in like.. really.
D-Then why don't they just say really?
M-Because. Things have changed.
D-Agreed!
B-Anyways! Where is it?!(said with a huge cheesy grin)
D-Right here.
(snatches out of hand)
B-OH MY GOSH! THANKS DAD! THANKS MOM! (Hugs and runs up stairs)
M-Honey but you haven't eaten dinner yet.
B-I'm not hungry any more!
M-This is the exact reason why I told you to save it for after dinner.
D-I'm sorry sweetheart.
M-Yeah your always sorry. I tell you to do one thing and you do(interupted)
J-Mommy. Are you and daddy arguing again?
M-Oh no pumpkin. We're just having a loud conversation.
JB-Really? I want to have one!
M-We'll go for it!
JB-I LOVE YOU MOMMY AND DADDY!
M&D-WE LOVE YOU TOO SON!
M-(Sweet voice) Honey. We will continue this conversation later.
D-Oh Lord!
M-What was that?!
D-(thinks)...I said we need to buy him some more toys. You know since we bought Briana a cellphone.
M-Uhm hum..That better have been it.

(Jason's dinner table:)

M-So son. How was your first day?
J-It was fine.
M-Did you make any new friends?
J-A few.
D-Any girls?
J-(smiles)Yeah.
D-Any of them cute?
M-Hun?
D-What he's a guy?!
J-Just one.
M-What's her name?
J-Briana. Briana Johnson.
M-And what race is she?
J-Why does that matter?!
D-Why does that matter?! Why does that matter?! Do you not the reason we moved?
J-Yes father I do.
M-And why was that?
J-To get away from the African Americans.
D-That's not what they're called! So repeat that.
J-To get away from the blacks!
D-Much better.
M-So what is her ethnicity?
J-She's Mexican. Like us
D-Good! I'd like to meet her one day.
M-Me too!
J-Sure maybe once we finally get settled in. I'll  ask her.
M-Yeah! When you do, ask her what's her favorite food.
J-Yes ma'am.


(After dinner sitting in room. Jason's sister comes to speak with him.)


A-Jason?
J-Yeah?
(closes door)
A-What race is she REALLY?
J-I told you guys Mexican!
A-Jason?! 
J-What?!
A-I'm your big sis. You can tell me anything!
J-Yeah. The same way their my parents and I should be able to tell them anything without there being a problem.
A-So she is black.
J-No! She's Mexican! What don't you understand?!
A-Why are you getting so mad???
J-Because. I'm an ordinary teenager going through hormone changes!
A-Whatever! Don't tell me the truth! But just know when mom and dad find out the truth,your gonna wish you had backup!
